Turning student leadership into financial opportunities for families
The SICC Social Spark Challenge is a 100-day, community-driven initiative that empowers students, families, and volunteers to take action—raising funds, building habits, and unlocking education savings.
Through student-led, family-led, and community-led fundraising efforts, participants contribute to the SICC RESP Match Fund, helping more families access the benefits of education savings.
This is more than a challenge—it’s a movement to build identity, agency, and long-term financial opportunity.
Most programs focus on funding.
We focus on people becoming changemakers.
Participants don’t just receive support—they actively create impact by:
Leading fundraising initiatives
Engaging their families and communities
Building consistent saving habits
Unlocking government education incentives
September, 2026
Start your changemaker journey with the Social Spark Challenge.
Apply Anytime (Year-Round)
No deadlines to start — join when you're ready. You can submit more than one application.
This is your journey. We provide the framework; you define the mission. Participants are invited to design a custom 100-day sponsor-pledged challenge under one of two broad streams.
Stream A: Personal Growth
Objective: Cultivating resilience, discipline, and holistic health.
Design a challenge that pushes your personal boundaries. Whether you are expanding your Intellectual capacity (languages, certifications), elevating your Physical vitality (fitness, nutrition), or fortifying your Mental wellbeing (character strengths, mindfulness, habits), your goal should be a daily or weekly commitment that results in a "new you" by day 100.
Stream B: Social Good
Objective: Driving sustainable change and community enrichment.
Design a project that makes a difference for a better world. This could focus on Community Impact (mentorship, volunteering), Environmental Action (sustainability, restoration), or Civic Advocacy (social equity, policy). Your challenge should result in a measurable contribution to the public good.
April 30 (Annual Cut-Off)
Participants submit their completed activities and sponsor-pledged funds to SICC RESP Match Fund by the cut-off date to be eligible for this year's awards.
