At Social Investing for Children Canada (SICC), Changemakers are the heart of our mission. They are individuals and families who take action to create educational opportunity, strengthen communities, and build long-term financial pathways for children across Canada.
We are currently accepting SICC Changemaker applications from individuals aged 18 and above who wish to contribute through volunteering, fundraising, mentorship, and community engagement.
SICC Changemakers are organized into four main categories:
Elementary and secondary students may participate in SICC activities through this category when represented by a parent or guardian.
Family Changemakers are led by parents or guardians who represent their household in supporting SICC initiatives.
They often:
Lead family-based fundraising and participation activities
Encourage children’s awareness of financial literacy and social impact
Support school and community engagement efforts
Act as ambassadors for RESP-focused programs
Family Changemakers help connect intergenerational values of care, education, and opportunity.
Post-secondary Student Changemakers are university, college, or vocational students who contribute energy, creativity, and leadership.
They are active agents in:
Creating and executing 100-day Social Spark Challenges
Organizing peer-led fundraising initiatives
Supporting school outreach and community events
Developing leadership, project management, and civic engagement skills
This pathway helps students build real-world experience while contributing to meaningful social outcomes.
Corporate Volunteer Changemakers are professionals who participate through workplace volunteering programs and team engagement.
They often:
Join team-based volunteering or fundraising challenges
Provide mentorship and skills-based support
Participate in community events and SICC campaigns
Support CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) objectives
This group helps bridge professional expertise with community impact.
Community Changemakers are individuals from the broader public who are committed to supporting children’s education and social development.
They often:
Participate in fundraising or awareness campaigns
Volunteer at events and initiatives
Contribute to local community-building activities
Advocate for education savings and equity initiatives
This group forms the foundation of a strong, inclusive civic network.
To join the SICC Changemaker community, individuals must:
Be 18 years of age or older
Share a commitment to supporting children’s education and community development
Participate in at least one SICC initiative or program pathway
SICC Changemakers are united by a shared belief: every child deserves the chance to build a stronger financial and educational future. Through collective action, we turn small contributions into lasting impact.
