The SICC Mobile Toy Library is a community-based initiative that brings educational toys and learning resources directly to families through pop-up events across Halifax. By sharing toys instead of buying new ones, we help families save money, reduce waste, and create more opportunities for children to learn through meaningful play.
Quality educational toys can be expensive, and children often outgrow toys quickly. Many families may not have access to a wide variety of learning materials that support creativity, problem-solving, literacy, and STEM skills.
The SICC Mobile Toy Library helps make learning resources more accessible by creating a community where toys are shared, repaired, reused, and enjoyed by many children.
The SICC Mobile Toy Library offers three ways for families to enjoy learning through play:
Join our pop-up events to explore educational toys, play with others, and discover new ways to learn.
Bring clean, gently used toys to share and exchange with other families, giving toys a second life.
Members can borrow educational toys and learning kits to enjoy at home.
We welcome broken or well-loved toys and help repair, restore, or repurpose them whenever possible, keeping toys out of landfills and giving them new life.
